- 1whole chicken with skincut into 8 pieces
- 2Eggs
- 1cupCorn flour
- 1-½cupSelf raising flour
- 1tspDry ginger powder
- 1tbspGarlic powder
- 1tbspSalt
- ½tspCinnamon powder

- 3tbspLemon juice

- In a mixing bowl, combine together the dry ginger powder, garlic powder, salt, cinnamon powder, paprika, lemon juice and 3 tbsp oil.

For the marinade

- Prepare the marinade by mixing together all the marinade ingredients.
- Stab the chicken pieces all over with a fork.
- Rub the marinade really well into the chicken pieces.
- Place the chicken pieces on a plate and spoon on any remaining marinade.
- Cover and chill for 6-8 hours.
- Mix together the flour, cornflour and baking powder (the dry mix).
- Take each chicken piece in turn and dip it first into the dry mix, then the beaten egg, then once more in the dry mix.
- Deep fry the chicken pieces at 180°C/360°F for about 15 minutes.
- Remove the chicken pieces from the oil and place on some kitchen paper to drain.
- Serve with fries, salad and garlic dip.
